Gajar Ka Halwa

Gajar Ka Halwa is a Indian dessert made with carrots, ghee, milk, sugar and flavored with cardamom. It's rich, creamy & delicious.

Yield: 4 servings


4 cups Carrot, grated

1/2 cup Milk

1/2 cup Condensed milk

1/4 cup Sugar

1 tsp Cardamom powder

1 tbsp Cashews, chopped

1 tbsp Almonds, chopped

2 tbsp Ghee


  • Fry cashews & almonds in 2tbsp ghee until they turn golden brown in color and set aside.

  • Add grated carrots to a non stick pan & sauté for 8-10 minutes.

  • Now add 1/4 cup sugar and cook till all the moisture is evaporated.

  • Pour milk & sprinkle cardamom powder.

  • Cook till all the milk is dried out and keep stirring in between.

  • Then add condensed milk and let it cook. Do stir in between.

  • Cook the halwa mixture till it dries out, turn off the stove.

  • Add in the fried nuts, give it a final stir.

  • Serve Gajar ka Halwa warm.
