Guava Jam

If you have ripe guavas, then this is the perfect recipe for you.


Ingredients

6-7 Ripe Guavas

1/2 cup Sugar

2tbsp Lemon Juice

Method

  • Wash the guavas and cut them into small pieces.

  • Take the guavas into a large pot and add enough water to cover the guava pieces.

  • Cook for about 30 minutes until the guavas look soft.

  • Let it cool completely, scoop out the seeds using a spoon from guava pieces.

  • Transfer the guavas pieces to a blender, blend until it looks like a fine puree.

  • Return the guava mix to the saucepan, add sugar and lime juice.

  • Let it cook on low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring frequently.

  • The jam will be ready when it has reached a thick consistency and another indication is when you can see the bottom of the saucepan while stirring the jam.

  • Once it is done, turn off the flame,

  • Transfer to a storage jar. Let it cool to room temperature and store in refrigerator.

  • Spread on toast and enjoy.

Note: Use only ripe Guavas.
