Raw Mango Pulihora

Here is a spicy and tangy rice recipe for Ugadi made with raw mango.

Ingredients
  • 1.5 cup Cooked rice

  • 1 raw Mango, grated

  • 3 tbsp Cooking Oil

  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds

  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds

  • 1 tbsp Chana dal

  • 3 - 4 Red chilies

  • 4 - 5 Green chilies, slit

  • 3 tbsp Peanuts

  • 3 tbsp Cashew nuts

  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric

  • 1 Sprig Curry Leaves

  • Salt to taste

Method
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal, red chilies, green chilies, curry leaves, peanuts and cashew nuts. Sauté for a minute.

  • Add grated mango, salt and turmeric powder. Stir and fry for a few minutes.

  • Now add in the cooked rice and mix it thoroughly. Adjust the seasoning if needed.

  • Raw mango pulihora is ready to serve.
