Thai Basil Chicken

When it comes to Thai recipes, this stir fry is one of the most popular and easiest to make. This recipes takes can be made in just 15 minutes. It's flavorful, quick, and is going to become one of your favorite quick dinners.

Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Boneless, skinless Chicken cut into bite size pieces

  • 3 Garlic cloves

  • 4-5 Red Thai chili

  • 1 1/2 tbsp Canola Oil

  • 1 cup Thai Basil leaves

For the sauce

  • 2 tsp Oyster sauce

  • 2 tsp Soy sauce

  • 1 tsp Sugar

  • 2 tbsp Water

Method

  • Heat oil in a wok over high heat.

  • As the wok is heating up, whisk together oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar and water until well combined in a small bowl. Set aside.

  • Use a mortar and pestle to pound the garlic and red Thai chili to a rough paste.

  • Add garlic and chili paste to the wok and cook for 10 seconds.

  • Add chicken and fry until cooked, around 5 minutes.

  • Then pour in the prepared sauce and continue to cook until the sauce thickens, it takes about 2-3 minutes.

  • Stir in the Thai basil leaves and cook until the basil is wilted.

  • Serve warm with rice.
