Thandai

Holi is just around the corner & I have a perfect recipe to enjoy this festive occasion.

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 10 whole almonds

  • 10 whole cashew nuts

  • 10 Pistachios

  • 3/4 teaspoon black peppercorns

  • 10 Cardamom

  • 1 tsp poppy seeds

  • 1 tsp fennel seeds

  • 1 tbsp melon seeds

  • 1 1/4 tsp Dried Rose petals

  • 1 pinch saffron

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 cup Milk

Method

  • Add Almonds, cashew nuts, pistachio, black peppercorns, cardamom, poppy seeds, fennel seeds, melon seeds, dried rose petals and saffron to a blender

  • Blend it to a smooth powder.

  • You can store the thandai powder in an airtight container and use it later.

  • To make thandai, to a blender add 1 tbsp sugar, 1 cup milk and 2 tbsp thandai powder per 1 cup milk. Blend it until well combined.

  • Garnish with sliced nuts and dried rose petals.

  • Serve chilled.
