Umm Ali

Umm Ali is a traditional Egyptian bread pudding, layered with buttery croissants, heavy whipping cream, condensed milk, cream and sprinkled with nuts.

Serving Size - 3

Ingredients

  • 2-3 Croissants cut into bite size pieces

  • 1 cup Heavy whipping cream

  • 1/4 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk

  • 1 tbsp Sliced Almonds

  • 1 tbsp Pistachios, chopped

  • 1/2 cup Whipped cream

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350F.

  • Chop Croissants into bite size pieces and set aside.

  • In a small saucepan on medium heat, combine heavy whipping cream, sweetened condensed milk and bring the mixture to a boil. Turn off the heat and let it cool for couple of minutes.

  • Place the croissant pieces in an ovenproof dish or a cast iron pan.

  • Pour over the heavy whipping cream mixture. Top it with chopped nuts.

  • Now spread the whipped cream all over the surface.

  • Bake for 15 - 20 minutes in the oven until the mixture is nice and bubbly.

  • Broil on high for 2-3 minutes in the oven until you get a crispy top.

  • Remove from oven and top with chopped nuts.

  • Serve immediately, Umm Ali tastes best when served warm.
